I provide comprehensive real estate development, asset management and project management support to the Forrest Group. I am responsible for managing and directing projects through the development process, managing approvals, third party negotiations, strategic site planning, legal requirements, municipal planning, contract due diligence monitoring, contract management, scheduling, ensuring on time and on budget real estate initiatives.
I have been active in land development and real estate for 25 years and have managed the innovative development of a number of small and large retail development projects and programs from restaurants and Hotels to Wal-Marts, Sam’s Clubs and Home Depots, to name a few. I have been involved in overseeing and delivering on the development of a number of retirement facilities and Long Term Care projects which are awarded through the Ministry of Health working in both the private and public sectors. I have consulted to Hospitals and Municipalities on redevelopment and new development objectives including strategic planning for building assets working with the Ministry and Infrastructure Ontario utilizing available funding and financing programs.
I previously held positions with Wal-Mart Canada, McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada and CIBC as development lead overseeing aggressive development and redevelopment programs, including portfolio management requirements. While at Wal-Mart I was responsible for all aspects of real estate development and the market entry of Sam’s Clubs into Canada.
Chris is a graduate of Ryerson University with a BAA in Applied Geography and recipient in certificates in both Marketing and Economics. During his 14 years at McDonald’s Restaurants in a number of progressive roles he received several awards of achievement from McDonalds International and finished top of his class at McDonalds University in Chicago in Advanced Land Development, Leadership Management and other real estate designations.
